He died as he lived – wait, no, not really. He tanked up, stepped up with the big baddie and then got cut down because he was the biggest, most obvious, toughest threat available which was kind of the exact opposite of how he lived. But he was a much beloved character, the third member of the crew to die (that anyone actually cared about), and for that we weep for his memory.
Jonas was born on the southwestern coast of Varisia in the
city of Magnimar. He grew up on the streets below the
ancient Thassilonian ruin of the Irespan. Adventuring
south, he barely survived travel through Nidal and Cheliax.
Jonas came to a tavern in Port Peril called the Formidably
Maid in search of his fate. He wasn’t sure how many
drinks he had, but they quickly went to his head and
he passed out on the table before he found his
destiny—unless it lay in the bottom of a bottle. Then
again, maybe he found his destiny after all…
